Millennium Train sets M14, M9 and M6 at the Eveleigh depot. The sets were undertaking shunting operations in the yard at the time the photograph was taken.

Located on both ends of the vestibule, top and bottom decks of the train, these destination indicators (Similar to ones used on station platforms) display stopping patterns of the service, station arrivals and other important information.

(Above-left): The cab of D1001. The Millennium train cabs are a new ground breaking feature. 

The main driver’s display is a computer screen system displaying typical information such as speed, brake pressure, air pressure and also has the MetroNet radio system programmed into it.

 

(Below-left): The guard’s door control panel, beside both cab doors, features large buttons controlling the opening and closing of the train and cab doors.

The seats are made from vandal-resistant material and are also reversible, unlike the Tangara (T-SET) seats.
