                Driver's cab

The cab of the Millennium Train is another groundbreaking new feature of the Millennium Train. The cab door of the train slides open mechanically like the passenger doors of the set.

One could mistake the cab of the Millennium Train as being a cockpit piece from a Boeing jet aircraft, with several computer screen displays for the driver and guard of the train! The main driver’s display is a computer screen system displaying typical information such as speed, brake pressure, air pressure and also has the MetroNet radio system programmed into it. On the right hand side of the cab (Facing leading direction) has another computer screen dedicated to the guard of the train. This screen has display options for the guard such as destination information for the train (These operate the announcements and indicators in the passenger interior of the train), route information, delay notification and also specific security cameras in the carriages can be selected.

Next to the right-hand side cab door is the security monitor of the train. This is the security monitor which displays and rotates images relayed from security cameras throughout the carriages of the train.

The guard’s door control panel, beside both cab doors, features large buttons controlling the opening and closing of the train and cab doors.
