What's new and updated

Update: 9th April 2007

Valve Gear Media now opens for business!

For years, we've specifically catered for mainly photographic media of the Trains, Tracks and Stations of all the railways we've visited, but now, video adds a new dimension to the media we share on our hobby. We can see the visual dynamics on the action of passing freight trains, hear the wonderful nostalgic sounds of steam locomotives, and most importantly, we let you, the viewer, to be Aboard the Action!

We already have videos online, ready to view from our YouTube account, which you can find at NOW Online! section. A preview of upcoming videos to Valve Gear Media can be found at Next in Line. But for this opening surprise, we give you the trailer to our upcoming 4-Part series, Steel Across The States - The American Adventure

(Or view here)

Steel Across The States, 10 months in the making, is a compilation of all the footage we shot when we visited the United States, in July/August of last year. Rather than go into all the subjects we'll feature, find it on its special page listed on Next in Line. It is intended as of next week, this series will be released on a once or twice weekly basis at a set evening time.

 STAY TUNED!

Update - 4th of September 2005

Hey Everyone again

It has been a while since the last update of The Intercity Platform on the 4th of June 2004, and that update below which said I'll update the website soon, but not much has happened. Seriously, things are being worked on and trust me, when the site gets updated with brand new photos and stuff, all will be good.

Reality has caught up to me unfortunately, when you begin studying IT at University, and also begin racking more experience playing with real trains, it does eat up your time abit. And the IT thing, I mean c'mon, I spend 4 days a week with computers at uni, the last thing I wanna do when I get home is sit infront of one.

Give me abit more time. Or while you're waiting, how about you join a preserved/tourist railway and volunteer your time and labour there? They're always in need of more volunteers, and The Intercity Platform encourages and supports this.

So give me a chance, stick with checking back on the site once a week or something, something's bound to come through.

Cheers

Update - 18th of December 2004

Hey Everyone

It has been a while since the last update of The Intercity Platform on the 4th of June, but I hope to everyone's understanding that my Year 12 HSC studies would take precedence. Now that's all over, I can go back to our world of railfanning and continue to update the site with some more great photographs!

The new stuff that has come in the last update can be found in the what's new and updated section, one of these being our new The Intercity Platform discussion forum hosted by our buddies at RailPage Australia network.

Now, coming soon to The Intercity Platform in 2005:

AND.... here is a sneak peak of some of the content just waiting to be put on The Intercity Platform.

As you can see, we're committed to not only bringing you some damn good photography, but more importantly, some unique photography not to have been seen, as our goal will continue to be a site which represents the railways of NSW, but to look at things from a different angle.

As always, it is YOUR support which motivates us at The Intercity Platform to continue operating and present railway photographs and information concerning NSW. Please do let us know if you have some comments or feedback to make with regards to the website. You can either jump onto our discussion forum, or othewise, email me at maikha_l@hotmail.com.

Soooo, keep an eye on us in early 2005, where The Intercity Platform begins to take on a new look and function, we continue going further (Maybe daring to go across the border into Mexico), continue looking and photographing the same thing (But from a different angle) and provide our insights into the dynamic NSW railway network, but our objectives and personality will always stay the same.

Oh yeah, 2005 also celebrates the 150th Anniversary of the NSW Railways. It shall be a BIG year in NSW, and The Intercity Platform shall be there ALL THE WAY to provide coverage of the many events, festivities and tours that will take place to celebrate the 150th.

So in the mean time, safe and happy gunzelling. For those of us working in heritage and preservation, stick to it!

Cheers
