Welcome to North-East Rails, the brand new American subsidiary for the Australian based The Intercity Platform railfanning website! In the Summer of '06, I went on vacation, from my home of sunny Sydney, Australia (At the time, cold and windy!), right across the pacific to the other side of the world, that being, the United States. Nothing was planned, some bits were researched, the rest was all done on whim!
Based in Philadelphia, I spent the following 5 weeks discovering and experiencing many American modes of transit, railroad operators and agencies, but more importantly, American Culture. Much was gained, and many memories will remain for a long time.
This new contains many of my photographs captured on this vacation, and bringing my photographic perspective over there.
