Steel Across The States

Steel Across The States is the latest addition to Valve Gear Media's titles. This 4 Part series, 10 months in the making, is a culmination of all the video footage Valve Gear Media shot while on holidays in the United States. 

From San Francisco to New York, Valve Gear Media covers many items of railway interest from Philadelphia's PATCO, to a GP-38 Locomotive simulator, to a cabride aboard a real 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive.

2006

Tin Hares

 In one of Valve Gear Media's first productions, VGM jumps aboard vintage CPH Railmotor units 1 and 7, for a ride between Paterson and Maitland, on the North Coast line, during the annual Maitland Steamfest 2006.

3830: Maitland Steamfest

 Filmed on the same day as Tin Hares, VGM also jumps aboard a heritage train excursion, hauled by 38 Class locomotive 3830, which travels from Sydney to the annual Maitland Steamfest 2006.

2005

W3

 One of few online videos featuring the rarely seen W3 heritage electric 'red set', this video features parts of a shuttle from Lidcombe station to Olympic Park, operated to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the NSW Railways, held in September 2005.

1072 - From the footplate

 With the evocative sounds and sights of a steam locomotive, Valve Gear Media takes you aboard another footplate cabride aboard a live steam locomotive, former Queensland engine BB18 1/4 1072,  now operating on the Great Zig Zag Railway in Lithgow, NSW.

3112: Through the 'burbs

 After a 3 hour layover in Sydney, preserved tank steam locomotive, 30 Class 3112, operates an empty movement between Sydney Terminal to Lidcombe, as it speeds along the mainline passing many inner-west line stations enroute. 

This video, tapes from the leading carriage overlooking the leading water gin and locomotive, is a unique view of this locomotive in its present glory.
