Part 1: Across The Delaware

The State of New Jersey and Pennsylvania offers many exciting and unique railroad interests for all railfans. The first part of Steel Across The States takes a view from the 'railfan window' of a PATCO train service over the Ben Franklin bridge, Philadelphia. This follows a view of a SEPTA AEM7 on a peak-hour service, and is finished off with an evening railfanning session observing Norfolk Southern freight trains in New Jersey.

  • PATCO - Port Authority Transit Corporation
  • SEPTA - Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority
  • TAMR - Teen Association of Model Railroaders
Part 2: Cable on the Powell

Across to the other side of the US, in sunny California, this episode records, in full, a ride on the back of one of San Francisco's world famous Cable Car System, on the Powell-Hyde line. This is followed by a brief view of other transit systems in San Francisco including SFO's AirTrain and BART

Part 3: New York, New York and Eighth Notch

Back to the East Coast, this episode looks at the grandeur and pace of New York City's Grand Central Terminal, in fast 'time-lapse' motion, followed by a brief view of a typical New York MTA Subway train.

The second half of this episode features the operation of the popular GP-38 Locomotive Simulator, located at the Railroading Museum of Pennsylvania, in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, as the creator behind the Steel Across The States series has a go at operating this simulated train.

Part 4: 2-10-0

The most exclusive of all adventure and footage captured on vacation, this final installment of Steel Across The States saved the best until last. Part 4 details, in full, a return trip on the premiere Strasburg Rail Road, of Strasburg, Pennsylvania, from the footplate of steam locomotive #90.

The immense experience of this ride is captured in almost its entirety, mostly from the footplate, but also featuring on-train and trackside perspectives of this spectacular journey through Amish countryside.
